The True Cost of Server Networks Versus Cloud Networks - Part 3

Posted by Amanda Hudick on 11th Dec 2014

Cloud networks have been around for a while. The concept isn't new, however, they have become more popular recently, perhaps because they are a cheap way for a business to gain more storage without having the cost of purchasing the hardware and managing a server network. For businesses, the cost evaluation has to go deeper than the upfront cost to the business. After all, the cost can go beyond the obvious.

The monthly cost of buying cloud storage can be only the fees to use the storage, costs are typically lower than in-house servers. However, you give up control over your information when it’s in an off-site cloud network. With in-house you have the control and the servers are dedicated to your use only. They will give you better performance. The downside to having your own dedicated server network, is when something isn't working, it’s up to you to fix it. You still have control over your system and the information on it.

Should you choose to work with the hardware of a server network, Server Worlds offers a lower cost option for the hardware with refurbished servers from Dell, IBM and more. We’re a Microsoft registered refurbisher and our hardware goes through multiple testing to assure that it will function properly once you get it. We want to provide only the best for our customers when it comes to finding the right hardware, so we configure the units according to your specifications, that way, you don’t have to spend more money after receiving the units to get them how you need them.
